Another one bites the dust

BATLEY 3 - HARROGATE 1 The game today was to be our hardest so far. Our 1st goal came just 2mins into the game when Gail snuck one past Harrogate goal keeper. It shocked the Harrogate team who had to rethink their game plan. Harrogate were a lot younger and appeared to be fitter than us, as a few of our ladies were a little red faced during the fast pace of the 1st half. Harrogate equalised making it 1 - 1 but then Ashleigh was in the right place to bang the ball against the back board just a few minutes later, 2-1. Gemma, Sarah and Emily had an excellent game today with all three fighting hard and chasing the ball down to stop Harrogate in their tracks, Hayley was invaluable today. The 2nd half proved just as hard and fast for us, but the determination of Gail, Vicky and Rachel not to let Harrogate through paid off. We needed another goal quickly to give us a little comfort as the game was intensifying as we neared the final whistle, Kim didn't fail us, making it 3 - 1, we just had to stay focused now and we did. Mel and Jenni were superb again today sweeping up at the back, we certainly couldn't do without them. We must not forget Helen who stands waiting for the opposition to fire the ball at her, but as always she never fails to please. The naughty one today was Jenni who got sent to the sin bin for hitting the ball away (tut tut) and the T-- of the day was Gail, who forgot her boots and had to go back home for them. MOM was again shared between Kim and Hayley. Well Done Picking MOM is always hard as Gemma and Sarah must have been close contenders today. There were no serious injuries today, but Mel did get hit in the face and came off, but she was ok (thank goodness). Looking forward to next week and:
