Welcome back ladies to the start of the 2017/18 season.
Our first two games were friendlies, winning one and losing one but it allowed us to blow away the cobwebs!
Our first league game was against Cleckheaton with a winning score of 4-0. Batley attacked from the whistle, not allowing Cleckheaton any opportunities to play the ball.
Janna and Gemma worked hard, which allowed Rachael to score 13 minutes into the first half. The backs had little to do today ,which was good, as most of the play was up front as we attacked hard and fast. The first half remained 1-0.
Coming back for the second half proved to be just as lively, again not giving Cleckheaton much opportunity to come back at us, and when they did Mel saw them off and Helen did her thing, kicking the ball back towards us.
Everybody played their part well today, giving Kim, Gail, Rachel and Vicky time to hit the back board of the Cleckheaton goal. Keep this up ladies as it was a good game!
Let’s look forward to the next game against Selby. And remember ladies, sticks down!!
