Ok, I was going to pretend that I could remember the York game really clearly and write a full match report on it, but it was 3 weeks ago and I can barely remember the score. We were confident that we could come away with a win, and we did, 5-0! Vicky scored 2 goals and Linda converted a penalty flick, MOM went to Dannii. This is pretty much all I can remember. I’ll try to be better in future.

The following week, we found ourselves in Leeds. After getting lost on the university campus, we finally made it to the pitch. Then the match was slightly delayed because the previous match had overrun, so we were a little late starting.

The game was close, in the beginning, we had the upper hand and Gail had quickly scored two early goals putting us comfortably in the lead. After this, Leeds started to fight back and break down our game. When we didn’t use the space effectively, Leeds were punishing us for it. By halftime it was 2-2, although the defence reliably inform me that the second goal came off a foot, so should have been disallowed. There was everything to play for.

We found our feet again in the second half and we’re stronger on the attacked. We were marking well on any Leeds hit outs keeping the ball in the attacking half of the pitch. We managed to shut down any Leeds breaks and eventually, with 5 minutes to go, we broke through the Leeds defence and Janna scored our last GOAL of the game. The game ended 3-2 and had been a brilliant close game played well by both teams.

MOM went to Ash, who had a great game!
