Our last match of the season was a rearranged match against Bingley Bees. Our team of 14 met at Bingley's Bradford pitch. We knew that Bingley needed points to stay in the league and were prepared for a hard match.

The game started with Jodi taking on most of Bingley alone with our first hit of the game. After this impressive show of skill the game was end to end. Bingley's forwards were deceptively fast and it took us a while to find our feet. Also, for the first time in a long while, many of us were being man marked. Something we're not used to.
After a few minutes we settled in to the match and started to make some get attacks. Our forward were working well together and we even had three proper defenders, with Vicky stepping in to make a fourth, we had subs on every line. Lots of rotation keeping us fresh.
We had a few short corners, Bingley's keeper was making some excellent saves. After 15 minutes we finally worked a short corner around the Bingley defence and Kim scored the first GOAL of the match. 1-0 to Batley.
We had chance after chance that were either just wide or saved well by the keeper. Bentley grew and grew in confidence.
At half time we were 1-0 in the lead. We regrouped and went out to get a convincing win to finish the season.
Soon into the second half, Jodi took a ball round the keeper and scored a great GOAL into the open net. Following this, there was a short delay as Bingley rescued some actual bees from the pitch.
This was soon followed by a third GOAL from Jo. Batley were 3-0 in the lead. Bingley had some opportunities. Always breaking quickly and dangerous up front. Fretters worked hard to keep them at bay, racing all over the pitch.
The game ended 3-0 to Batley. A great win to end season. Man of the match went to Sarah and Batley headed to Leeds for a celebration!
